The ReSpeaker XVF3800 USB 4-Mic Array is a far-field microphone board built on the XMOS XVF3800 voice processor that captures a clean, echo-free voice signal from up to 5 metres away in noisy rooms, used to build voice assistants, Home Assistant satellites, conferencing devices, robots and speech-recognition products on Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, PCs or ESP32 microcontrollers.
A professional-grade circular 4-microphone array that captures a clear voice from up to 5 metres away, even next to a playing speaker or a noisy fan. The XMOS XVF3800 processor runs echo cancellation, automatic gain, noise suppression, de-reverberation, beamforming and 360° direction-of-arrival on board, so a Raspberry Pi, Jetson or PC receives clean audio over USB with no drivers. Switch to I2S firmware to drive it from an ESP32 or XIAO for embedded voice products.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work with Raspberry Pi and Home Assistant?
Yes. Plug it into a USB port and it appears as a standard audio capture device, so it works with Home Assistant voice satellites, Rhasspy, Wyoming and any ALSA or PyAudio application without drivers.
What is the pickup range?
Far-field capture up to about 5 metres. The on-board beamforming and noise suppression keep commands intelligible at that distance in normal room noise.
Can it cancel the sound from my own speaker?
Yes. Acoustic echo cancellation is processed on the XVF3800 chip, so the array can listen while a speaker attached to its own output is playing music or TTS replies.
Which way should the board face?
The microphone ports are on the side printed with the Seeed Studio logo. Point that side toward the talker and keep it unobstructed.
What is the difference between the USB and I2S versions?
This version ships with USB audio firmware for computers and single-board computers. Versions bundled with a XIAO ESP32-S3 ship with I2S firmware for microcontrollers. All versions can switch firmware in DFU mode.
Does it include a case or a XIAO ESP32-S3?
No. This is the bare board (SKU 101991441). Cases and XIAO-bundled variants are separate products.
