Is this kit ready to use out of the box?

Yes. The 128 GB microSD card comes with 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS already installed. Fit the board in the case, insert the card, connect a monitor with the included micro-HDMI cable, plug in a USB keyboard and mouse and the 27 W supply, and it boots to the desktop.

Does the Raspberry Pi 5 need a fan?

Under sustained load the Pi 5 benefits from active cooling. The official case in this kit includes a fan and heatsink that keep the board in its full-speed range.

Is 4 GB of RAM enough?

4 GB is plenty for learning, home servers, media playback, retro gaming and most robotics projects. Choose an 8 GB board only for heavy multitasking, large browser workloads or memory-hungry AI models.

Can I add an SSD?

Yes. The Pi 5 has a PCIe 2.0 x1 connector; add an M.2 HAT to run an NVMe SSD, or use the two USB 3.0 ports for an external drive.

Which power plug does the supply have?

You choose the plug when ordering: US, EU, UK or AU. Every version is the official Raspberry Pi 27 W USB-C PD supply and accepts 100–240 V, so no adapter is needed in your region.
