A delta parallel robot (also called a spider or parallel-kinematic robot) drives a single light end plate from three base-mounted arms through carbon-fibre rods. Because nearly all the moving mass stays at the base, a delta accelerates far harder than a serial arm of the same payload, which is why it is the standard choice for high-rate pick-and-place over conveyors. This unit carries 3 kg over a Ø600 × 120 mm envelope at ±0.02 mm repeatability, with a 4th rotary axis on the end plate.

A delta (parallel) robot is the arrangement you see over packaging lines: three arms driving one light end plate through carbon-fibre rods, so almost all the moving mass stays at the base. That is what lets a delta pick and place several times per second where a serial arm of the same payload would still be accelerating. This is the harmonic-drive servo build: three 400 W AC servos through 1:50 harmonic reducers, 3 kg payload over a Ø600 × 120 mm envelope, and ±0.02 mm repeatability. The frame is CNC-machined metal throughout with carbon-fibre linkage rods and zero-backlash joints. A fourth rotary axis at the end plate is fitted, so parts can be oriented as well as moved. It arrives as a working set — arm, control card with the drives built in, and power supply. Programming is done from a PC application with drag-to-teach, an on-screen simulation of the motion before you run it, and conditional and loop statements for real sequences rather than fixed point-to-point playback. Frequently asked questions

Why choose a delta robot over a 6-axis arm?

Speed. A delta keeps the motors at the base and moves only carbon-fibre rods and a light end plate, so it accelerates much harder than a serial arm of equal payload. The trade-off is a flat, limited work envelope and no ability to reach around obstacles — which is exactly the right trade for picking off a conveyor.

What is the difference between the servo and the stepper version?

This servo build uses three 400 W AC servos through 1:50 harmonic drives: 3 kg payload and ±0.02 mm repeatability. The stepper build uses 57-frame closed-loop steppers through 1:10 planetary gearboxes: 1.5 kg payload and ±0.1 mm. Both share the same Ø600 × 120 mm envelope.

Do I need to write code to program it?

No. The supplied PC software teaches positions by dragging the arm on screen and supports conditional and loop statements for real sequences. Remote setup support is included.

What does the fourth axis do?

It rotates the part at the end plate, so you can correct orientation while placing — aligning a label, seating a part in a nest, or squaring a pouch — rather than only moving in X, Y and Z.

Is it CE marked?

No. It ships as a machine sub-assembly without CE machinery certification. Whoever puts it into service is responsible for guarding, risk assessment and conformity in the destination market. Please factor that into your project before ordering.

What end effector should I use?

The end plate is drilled to take your own tooling. Vacuum cups suit flat or filmed products; add a vacuum switch so the controller knows a part is actually held before the arm moves.
