The Waveshare Bus Servo Adapter (A) is a small USB-C and UART interface board that powers and controls Feetech ST/SC-series bus servos (STS3215, STS3250) from a PC, Raspberry Pi or microcontroller, and is the board most LeRobot SO-101 and LeKiwi builds use in place of the Hiwonder BusLinker.

The Waveshare Bus Servo Adapter (A) is the low-cost USB interface most LeRobot builders use to drive Feetech STS3215 servos from a laptop or Raspberry Pi. Plug in 12 V, connect the servo chain, and the board appears as a serial port for LeRobot, the Waveshare servo tool or your own Python code. A direct alternative to the Hiwonder BusLinker for SO-ARM101 and LeKiwi builds.

What can you use it for?

  • Controller for a self-built SO-ARM100 / SO-ARM101 leader or follower arm
  • Setting servo IDs and offsets before assembly
  • LeKiwi mobile base and OpenDuck Mini servo bus
  • Any Feetech-servo robot driven from Python, ESP32 or Arduino

Who is it for?

Builders assembling SO-101 arms from servos and printed parts, and anyone who needs a spare or second USB servo interface.

Compatibility

  • Servos: Feetech STS3215, STS3250, STS3235, SCS series
  • Hosts: Windows, macOS, Linux, Raspberry Pi (USB serial); ESP32 / Arduino / STM32 via UART
  • Software: Hugging Face LeRobot (feetech motor bus), Waveshare servo tool, Feetech SDK
  • Power: 9–12.6 V DC in; use 12 V 5 A for six STS3215-C018

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the BusLinker V3.0?

Functionally yes: both turn USB into the Feetech servo bus and pass DC power to the servos. The Waveshare board is the one used in the original SO-100/SO-101 build guides and LeKiwi; the BusLinker is Hiwonder's version. LeRobot works with either.

Can it power the servos from USB?

No. USB only powers the logic. Servos take power from the barrel jack or screw terminal, so connect a 12 V (or 7.4 V) supply.

How many servos can I chain?

Up to 253 addresses on one bus; in practice six per arm, limited by the power supply, not the board.
